Dr. ZUO Tao
Co-founder, CTO, Chairman of the Information Technology and Security Committee, HKbitEX
Dr. Zuo is the Co-Founder, CTO, Chairman of the Information Technology and Security Committee at HKbitEX, responsible for building the cybersecurity framework of HKbitEX and the provision of in-house information security, using the most advanced encryption technology to maintain the development of HKbitEX.
Prior to founding HKbitEX, Dr. Zuo was Managing Director of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX), General Manager of a technology company for HKEX, also a member of the Technical Committee of the China Securities Depository and Clearing Limited (CSDC).
From 2010 to 2014, Dr. Zuo was Chief Architect of the Dalian Commodity Exchange, responsible for the design and planning of commodity trading systems. Prior to that, he worked for the CME Group as Deputy Director of Corporate Architecture.
Dr. Zuo graduated from York University in Toronto, Canada, with a PhD in Science. He has extensive experience in securities and futures of international and domestic markets, and is a pioneer in the realization of blockchain and distributed ledger technology in Hong Kong's capital markets. In 2006, he was awarded the Best Business Intelligence Implementation Program award by Computer World Magazine in the United States, and is the main inventor of China's capital market technology-related patents "Real-time measurement and monitoring of ultra-low latency performance of trading systems".
